New Fridley distribution center to rise where McGlynn's Bakeries once operated

Endeavor Development plans to build a 240,250-square-foot industrial building in Fridley.

The development, which Endeavor is calling River Edge Distribution Center, would be located on 15.5 acres at 7350 Commerce Lane NE, according to a marketing brochure by Edina-based Endeavor and Cushman & Wakefield.

The development would replace an existing 162,000-square-foot building that was recently occupied by Buffalo, New York-based Rich Products Corp. Rich Products announced last year its plan to shut down its commercial baking plant at the site, laying off 170 employees.

Rich Products had bought the Fridley plant, which made breads and cakes for restaurant sales, in 2020 from Treehouse Foods.

Before that, the site was the home to McGlynn's Bakeries, the well-known baking business that shuttered all of its bakery locations by 2004.
